Become A Mentor

One of the greatest ways we can strengthen our community is by investing in the next generation.
The Village of East Canton is proud to support The Legacy Project of Stark County as they seek caring volunteers to serve as mentors for students in the East Canton Local School District. Just one hour each week during a student's lunch period can make a lasting impact on a young person's life.
For the 2026–2027 school year, there is an immediate need for:

• Elementary School (12:10–12:40 p.m.): 2 female mentors and 1 male mentor
• Middle School (12:55–1:25 p.m.): 1 male mentor
• High School (11:30 a.m.–12:03 p.m.): 1 male mentor

Mentors work alongside another volunteer and meet with a small group of up to six students each week. The Legacy Project provides the FBI/BCI background check, training, curriculum, and all program materials, making it easy for anyone with a caring heart to get involved.
A positive role model can make all the difference in a child's life. If you've ever considered giving back to our community, I encourage you to think about becoming a mentor. The time commitment is small, but the impact can last a lifetime.

Thank you for continuing to make East Canton a community that cares.
