During last night’s council meeting (May 2, 2022), the East Canton Council appointed Thomas Hinerman as the next Village Police Chief in a unanimous decision; following the council vote, Chief Hinerman was sworn into his position. His duties will officially start on May 17, 2022. At this time, the Village Administrator Ed Collins will relinquish the title of Interim Safety Director and solely perform the duties as Village Administrator. The Mayor and Council would like to thank Administrator Collins for stepping forward in this time of transition.
