Dear Residents and Visitors of East Canton,

As we step into the joy of the 2025 holiday season, I want to extend my warmest wishes to each of you. This time of year is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the meaningful connections we share and to celebrate the spirit of our community.

During this festive season, let’s remember our neighbors, particularly the elderly and those who may feel lonely or isolated. A simple act of kindness—a phone call, a visit, or an invitation to join your celebrations—can make a significant difference in someone’s life. Together, we can create a warm and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and cared for.

I also want to take a moment to honor the incredible first responders in our community—our dedicated police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel. These brave individuals work tirelessly, often sacrificing their own holiday celebrations to ensure our safety and well-being. Their commitment to serving East Canton is truly commendable, and we are grateful for their unwavering dedication.

As we celebrate, please remember to do so responsibly. If you plan to enjoy alcoholic beverages, I urge you to arrange for a designated driver or use a rideshare service. Let’s ensure that our streets remain safe for everyone, allowing us all to enjoy the festivities without worry.

Please note that the Village Office will be closed from Christmas Eve through Monday, December 29, 2025, as well as on New Year’s Day, so that employees may spend time with their families. We appreciate your understanding and wish you a joyful holiday season.

In closing, let’s cherish the moments we spend with family and friends, and carry the spirit of kindness and community into the New Year. May your holidays be filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.

Warmest wishes,

David Spencer
Mayor of East Canton
