East Canton Police Investigating Infant Death

On March 10, 2026, officers with the East Canton Police Department, along with Osnaburg Township EMS, responded to a residence within the Village of East Canton for a report of an 8-month-old infant who was not breathing.
Upon arrival, EMS personnel immediately initiated life-saving measures. The child was then transported to Aultman Hospital for further medical treatment. Despite these efforts, the infant, unfortunately, was unable to be resuscitated.
This incident remains under active investigation. No additional details are currently available. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
The East Canton Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family during this difficult time. The department remains committed to conducting a thorough and complete investigation. We continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of all residents and are dedicated to serving and protecting the citizens of East Canton.
