Honorable Mayor David Spencer

David Spencer was raised in East Canton and is a 1998 East Canton High School graduate. David received his bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management and an MBA from Malone University. Because of his strong roots in the community and a desire to help others, he graciously accepted an appointment to fill a vacant Village Council seat in 2020.

In 2021, David was nominated to serve as Council President and held that position until February 1, 2022, when he resigned to assume the Office of Mayor following the resignation of his predecessor. He was subsequently elected to a full four-year term in 2023, which will expire on December 31, 2027.

Community involvement and volunteering have always been significant to David.  He has served on the East Canton Youth Baseball Association Board for many years, with several years as its President until his resignation in 2021. In addition to his responsibilities as mayor, David serves as the Vice President for International Manufacturing with operations located in Canton, Ohio. He is married to Erica, and they have five children in their blended family.
