Traffic Cameras
On March 24th, during a public work session, village council read out loud and passed the first reading of ordinances 2025-11 and 2025-12. These ordinances are related to the village considering entering a contract with Targeting and Solutions, Ltd, to install four fixed position traffic cameras and equipping officers with one mobile handheld traffic camera within the village of East Canton. This proposal is designed to improve the safety of our residents as speed within the village continues to be a significant concern. The second reading and vote for these ordinances will take place at the next scheduled council meeting on April 7th at 7pm which, of course, is open to the public. If the second readings are approved by a majority vote of council, the third and final reading will take place at the next council meeting on April 21st followed by a final vote.
